About the event
Sir Jonathan Bate delves into the poetry of Rachel Carson's "Sea Trilogy" and the watery environmentalism of Robert Lowell, Elizabeth Bishop, Sylvia Plath and James Merrill. Bate is Foundation Professor of Environmental Humanities at Arizona State University and a Senior Research Fellow in English Literature at Oxford University.
